Portraits and Media That Feel Undeniably You
For people who don't fit into templates, poses, or normal business hours.
We craft immersive visual stories for people who live life on their own terms.
You Don't Fit in a Studio.
And You Shouldn't Have To.
You've seen the same portraits a thousand times. Same lighting. Same poses. A framework that sands down every edge, quirk, and ounce of personality until everyone's photos looks like either a modeling portfolio or a LinkedIn headshot. No story, just poses.
But you're not everyone.
Maybe you're too loud, too crude, too bold for a white backdrop. Or too quiet, too careful, too particular about how you're seen. Maybe you're neurodivergent and need a photographer who actually listens.
The problem:
Most photographers won't go where you feel like yourself. They work 9-5. They shoot in studios. They follow the same formula for every single person because it's safe, predictable, and efficient.
And you? You get photos that are safe, predictable, and ineffective. They look fine, but you don't recognize yourself in them. The regular crowd still hits the like button, and everyone else scrolls right past.
We Go Where You Go. We Shoot When You're Alive.
1. Any Location That Tells Your Truth
I don't have a studio. I have a vehicle, lighting gear, and zero attachment to convenience. If your story lives on a rooftop overlooking the city, in your workshop surrounded by half-finished projects, or in a tattoo parlor that feels more like home than your apartment—that's where we shoot.
2. Any Time You Need
I'll meet you at sunrise if that's when you're sharpest (but don't expect me to be chatty). I'll shoot midday. I'll run a session until 2 AM if that's when you come alive. Most photographers work normal hours. I work your hours.
3. Discovery Hour: The Foundation of Everything
Before we ever pick up a camera, we spend an hour figuring out how to design this around you. Not my taste. Not my templates. You. We map out location, timing, energy, accommodations, and story. By the time we shoot, you know exactly what to expect and I know exactly how to show up for you.
I'm a Visual Biographer for People Who Refuse to Shrink
I didn't build Sharp Sighted Photos to take safe, predictable portraits. I built it to work with people most photographers won't—or can't—handle.
The ones who are too much. The ones who are too little. The ones who need their story told somewhere no one's thought to shoot before.
With over a decade of technical obsession, I don't just capture how you look. I design lighting, location, and pacing around your energy—not a preset formula. I understand what it means to need direct communication and space to be exactly who you are. But I also understand what it means to have a personality that doesn't fit neatly into polite conversation or normal business hours.
If you don't fit in a box, we'll build something bigger.
— Dean Draper,  Visual Biographer
How This Actually Works
Step 1: Book a Welcome Call (15 Minutes)
A simple, no-pressure conversation to see if we're the right fit. We talk about what you're hoping for, where your story lives, and whether this makes sense. If it feels right, we move forward. If not, no hard feelings.
Step 2: Discovery Hour (60 Minutes, Paid Session)
This is where we design the entire shoot around you. We meet in person or over Zoom and map out:
   •   Location: A chef in their kitchen after close? An artist in their studio surrounded by work in progress? A founder in the warehouse where it all started?
   •   Timing: When are you most yourself?
   •   Energy: Are you loud and bold, or quiet and deliberate? Do you need rapid-fire direction or time to process?
   •   Accommodations: Whatever affects your comfort—we plan for it.
   •   Story: What do you want people to feel when they see these images?
By the end, we have a clear creative plan. You know exactly what to expect on photo day. Nothing is left to chance.
Step 3: Photo Day and Reveal
A session designed entirely around your narrative, your location, and your schedule. I bring the lighting to you. I direct you in a way that feels natural, not forced. And when we're done, your finished artwork is delivered in person, framed to your specifications, ready to be displayed for decades.
This Is Concierge-Level Production for People Who Can't Be Templated
Most photographers build a system and expect you to fit into it. I do the opposite. I build the system around you.
You'll never be rushed. You'll never be squeezed into someone else's idea of who you should be. And you'll never be surprised by how I use your images—the Discovery Hour Agreement makes it legally binding that I won't use any photo or recording without your explicit approval.
I go above and beyond in every regard. AI and my associates both tell me I'm far too generous. But I do things my way. Our way.
This is photography for people who live outside the lines, and also for the ones who color inside the lines.

A Note on Specialties
Every story deserves the right storyteller. I will work with families who want to leave the studio behind and create unique portraits that defy the genre, but my focus isn’t traditional family, wedding, newborn, or maternity photography. There are artists whose talent in those areas is truly unmatched, and I’m always glad to refer clients to them.
My heart belongs to people and bold brands ready to go deeper, step outside the ordinary, and create portraits that carry truth and daring in equal measure. We deliver an experience that feels unforgettable and images that still matter ten years from now.
If you're looking for portraits that tell your story,
then Sharp Sighted Photos is the right choice.
